The best feng shui plants for good luck at home

Feng shui principles have long been included in interior design to promote the best possible flow of energy in a space. While feng shui applies to furniture placement and layouts, there are also feng shui plants. Some plants are considered especially beneficial because they're thought to bring good fortune to your home. If you're interested in adding feng shui plants to your space, here are some of the luckiest houseplants to consider:

Money tree

As the name suggests, the money tree is associated with wealth and good fortune. It's considered one of the most popular and famous feng shui plants for the home, since it can be used to bring wealth and prosperity to your life. Experts recommend placing a money tree in the southwest area of your home to give it the best light and maximize good luck.

Snake plant

Snake plants are tall, sword-shaped plants known for their ease of care and prolific growth. They also make great feng shui plants when placed near the front door or windows as a symbolic protector. Many feng shui advisors recommend keeping them in bedrooms or children's rooms for additional good luck and safety.

Ficus

The ficus family of trees and plants is full of excellent houseplant options for feng shui. When placed in the Eastern area of your home, thought to be the health and wellness energy zone, these air-purifying plants can maximize their potential. Choose a dark and dramatic rubber tree, a colorful Tineke or classic weeping fig for lucky greenery.

Pothos

Pothos are incredibly popular houseplants for many reasons, but are exceptional feng shui plants because they can liven up low-energy areas of the home. Forgotten corners, above kitchen cabinets or neglected hallways are all suitable environments for pothos to thrive and provide good luck--even if you sometimes forget to water them.
